Notes: Denis Mulcahy (#3-1861)**** immigrated to USA about 1880...Nora Cronin came much later...he lived in NYC as laborer. His sister Nora/Hanora Mulcahy, and Mother Margaret nee Ring Mulcahy came over around 1882 possibly. This Nora Cronin no direct relation to Julia Cronin, wife of Denis Mulcahy #1-1805. As far as we know. There are many Cronen/ Cronin's living in this area, still.
per 1900 census, Nora/Hanora (age 38, b. 1862)****, married 14 years, having 10 children (as 10 listed above), 8 living as of 12 Jun 1900, and immigrated 1889. Immigration may have been sooner, as daughter Nora, is b. Jan 1887, NY. And if married 14 years = married abt. 1886.
Per Pat: I keep wondering if Denis Mulcahy (#3-1861) was in US Army with my grandfather, and maybe died in Sp/Am war...and how he got to know Nora. My Father once mentioned that my grandfather was a boarder in the house they lived in...the "house" is an apt. house....so possibly just knew each other as boarders....I'll never know for sure.

Notes: Pat Lewis - In
the 1910 census there was Margaret born around 1888, Patrick, born '92, then
Daniel in '95-6 all in NYC up to that point the Mother had had 11 children only
4 living the last being my Father John, in 1902, by her 2nd husband. I suspect
the other children died of one aliment in those days or possibly childbirth. The
only time I ever heard my Father mention his step brothers was at death of
Patrick and once years later told me he "borrowed" Daniels long pants so he
could get a job as elevator operator ( he was 12 at the time). There was never
any mention of Margaret so have no idea of her married name. The mother died in
1914, since the step children were all old enough to be out on their own or
married they didn't have the step Father living with them, and him being very
secretive Irishman didn't answer to census takers, as was my Father. I do not know of any other Nora or Anna...only Margaret, Patrick and Daniel and John, or any of them living in Yonkers area. Also no knowledge of a Simon.
